Daniels to Oversee Two New NBC Toons

Greg Daniels, the prolific TV veteran behind shows such as King of the Hill and Parks & Recreation, will be exec producing two new animated comedies for NBC. The first toon will be written and exec produced by The Office co-exec producer/co-star Mindy Kaling, who will also be voicing one of the show’s character, and the second will be exec produced by Parks & Recreation’s Alan Young.

The Kaling project focuses on a girls high-school volleyball team, while Yang’s toon is about a group of 20something guys sharing a house in the Hancock Park neighborhood in Los Angeles.

“One of our focuses will be to return Greg to primetime animation, for which he had particular success with King of the Hill when he and I worked together at FBC,” NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt told Deadline.
