Marvel and Disney Publishing have announced plans to introduce a new line of comic books featuring the characters from Pixar’s beloved Toy Story franchise. Woody, Buzz LightYear and the rest of the gang will enjoy new adventures in Toy Story #1 (of 4), which will be published in March.
“Everyone loves Toy Story, so we’re excited to team with our friends at Disney-Pixar to bring readers all new stories of our favorite characters from these blockbuster films,” said Axel Alonso, Editor in Chief, Marvel Entertainment. “Toy Story allows us to bring great new material to the market that’s not only perfect for kids, but also a great read for fans of all ages. Written By Tea Orsi and penciled by Antonello Dalena and Teresa Quezada-Geer, with a cover by Marco Ghiglione and Silvano Scolari, Toy Story #1 finds the toys experiencing some turmoil when Andy brings home a playful puppy name Buster, who loves to chew and play with the gang. The new comic, which is set between the first two Toy Story movies can be purchased for $2.99. Previously, Toy Story comics were published by Boom Studios, but the when Disney bought Marvel in 2009, new partnerships had to be built.
