Viacom Int’l Media Networks (VIMN) has announced that together with long-time local partner Ananey Communications it will launch its leading preschool channel Nick Jr. in Israel, starting February 7.
Leading cable operator HOT will locally manage the Hebrew language Nick Jr. service, which will be available to 900,000 Israeli households. The preschool targeted programming will aim to educate and excite young minds with a blend of local and international shows, such as Emmy nominated Nick classics Dora the Explorer, Blue’s Clues, Go! Diego, Go!, Bubble Guppies, The WonderPets! and Team Umizoomi.
“Nick Jr. Israel is yet another example of how the Nickelodeon brand continues to be an integral part of kids’ lives all over the world,” commented Andy Goodhand, Senior Vice President, Senior Vice President, Nickelodeon; Russia, Israel & CEE. “Having debuted in 2003, Nickelodeon is now the number one children’s channel in Israel and as part of the network’s natural evolution I’m delighted that hit shows such as Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go!, whose characters are beloved by Israeli children, will have a dedicated new home.”
VIMN already boasts a diverse roster of multi-platform content and channel brands in the Israeli market, including Nickelodeon Israel now reaching 1.5 million homes, and youth and comedy entertainment brands MTV and Comedy Central.
