‘Rango,’ ‘Hugo’ Win Big at VES Awards

Gore Verbinski’s underdog hero Rango continued its winning streak last night at the 10th Annual VES Awards. Only a few nights after taking home four Annie Awards, the Paramount/ILM feature added four VES Awards to its list of wins, including the honors for Supporting VFX, Virtual Cinematography, Animated Character and Created Environment in an Animated Feature.

Hugo, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Transformers: Dark of the Moon all took home two awards in the Feature Motion Picture categories, while Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones each garnered a pair of awards in the Television categories.
