Indie animation titan Bill Plympton has just launched a new video blog, documenting his progress on his latest feature, Cheatin’. The director will deliver new installments every two weeks, in which he’ll discuss the project from inspiration to finished feature, offering fans a special peek at his creative process.
You can check the vlogs out at https://vimeo.com/41097663 and https://vimeo.com/channels/322695. The first episode will post on his blog, Scribble Junkies (scribblejunkies.blogspot.com) this week.
Plympton attracted a lot of attention recently when he animated the weekly couch-gag opener for “Beware My Cheating Bart” episode of The Simpsons, which aired on April 15th. His beautifully drawn opener centered on the star-crossed love affair between Homer Simpson and his couch. The long list of his acclaimed shorts and features include The Cow Who Wanted to be a Hamburger, 25 Ways to Quit Smoking, Guard Dog, I Married a Strange Person, Hair High, Mutant Aliens and Idiots and Angels.
