Billed as the world’s first MMLOL (Massively Multiplayer Laugh-Out-Loud) game, Family Guy Online from Twentieth Century Fox and Roadhouse Interactive has moved into open beta! The game will bring to 3D life the characters and locations from Seth MacFarlane’s hit animated comedy series, Family Guy, which airs on Fox. Visit www.familyguyonline.com to register now!
Fans and gamers will have a blast testing out this free to play, browser-based multiplayer online game. Begin by crafting your custom Family Guy inspired character based on four classes with special skills and weapons, then team up with others or opt for a single player experience on an adventure through Quahog’s best known landmarks from Spooner Street to The Drunken Clam; interact with characters like Stewie, Quagmire and Mayor Adam West as well as other fans; enjoy hilarious content scripted by Family Guy writers and voiced by show talent; and perfect character class weapons like the “noxious burp” or “farticle” to battle enemies. In-game cash or earned “clams” can be used to purchase customizing items for characters and to advance gameplay.
To ensure the best user experience for the most fans worldwide, a “Key to Quahog” access program has been created to let players into the game in waves. Each Key provides a registered player with the time and date they can enter the open beta; the Key can be used any time on or after their assigned entry date and time. Users from the closed beta will be the first to receive their Keys.
“We worked very closely with the show writers so that Family Guy Online encapsulates the well-known Family Guy brand of humor with the best elements of online multiplayer games, which is why we see it as a MMLOL,” said Ian Verchere, chief creative officer for Roadhouse Interactive. “The feedback from our closed beta has been amazing, and we’re extremely happy to now be able to open up Family Guy Online to everyone.”
