Dallas-based animation and vfx house Reel FX has acquired the 73,200 square foot property that has served as its headquarters for the past seven years at 301 N. Crowdus St.. The studio, which also has a 16,000 square foot facility in Santa Monica, Calif., is led by a team of industry veterans Aron Warner, Ed Jones and Cary Granat. Reel FX produced the recent slate of 3-D CG-animated Looney Tunes shorts including Daffy’s Rhapsody, I Tawt I Taw a Putty Tat and Coyote Falls.
“We have called Dallas home for almost two decades, and our goal was to remain in Dallas and in Deep Ellum,” said Reel FX COO Kyle Clark. “We couldn’t be happier to stay in the building we consider an important part of our past, and now, our future.”
