Cowabunga, dude. Original co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming Brand Licensing Europe event in London (October 16-18). Also scheduled to join Eastman is Rich Magallanes, senior VP of animation, current series at Nickelodeon. The duo will discuss the lasting impact of the pizza-loving turtles and the launch of the new CG-animated incarnation of the brand on Nick this fall.
Eastman and Magallanes will speak on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. at the Licensing Academy. They’ll explore how one of the most unlikely character concepts of all time has endured for three decades, generated billions of dollars of merchandise sales, and then been re-imagined for a new generation. Offering nine different sessions, the Licensing Academy is free-to-attend. However, attendees are advised to arrive 10 minutes before each session as places are limited.
Based in London’s Olympia hall, Brand Licensing Europe draws retailers, licensees, manufacturers and sales promotion professionals to forge lucrative partnerships and discover the latest brands, characters and images available for license. More than 2,200 of the top brands, characters and images and 250 leading brand owners will be at the 2012 event. For more info, visit www.brandlicensing.eu.
