Skyreader Launches New Self-Publishing Platform

Skyreader Media, the Toronto-based children’s app developer has introduced Skyreader Studio, its new proprietary self-publishing platform in open beta. The Studio is expected to officially launch in the first quarter of next year.

Skyreader’s new platform is billed as the first to offer a complete set of the self-publishing tools needed to create fully interactive and engaging content normally only achievable through expensive custom programming.

“Having worked with authors and publishers to create immersive interactive children’s book apps, we know what it takes to stand out from the crowd,” said Skyreader Media CEO, Kevin Gillis. “However, until now, authors and publishers have had to choose between settling for less-than-exciting experiences or spending tens of thousands of dollars in custom development to create truly great ones. With Skyreader Studio, creating the next-generation of storytelling will be simplified. Our authoring platform provides access to all major publishing formats and distribution channels.”

With the new Skyreader Studio platform, authors and publishers can go beyond the traditional capabilities to easily create richer, more interactive, child-friendly experiences.

Skyreader Studio is a fully web browser-based authoring platform, featuring an instantaneous preview within the browser or on an iPad. Output formats include native support for iOS and Android via the Skyreader Bookshelf as well as ePub2, ePub3, HTML5, to support all major eBook devices and applications.
