The Golden Globes 2013 nominations were announced this morning (Dec. 13).
The five animated features up for the award are:
The big surprise was the absence of critical favorites such as LAIKA’s ParaNorman and any of GKIDS’ stylish imports such as The Rabbi’s Cat, Zarafa, The Painting and From Up on Poppy Hill. In the best dramatic picture category, the Hollywood Foreign Press Assoc. picked Argo, Django Unchained, Life of Pi, Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty, and nominated The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Les Miserables, Moonrise Kingdom, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and Silver Lining Playbook as the best comedies/musicals of the year.
The Golden Globes ceremony, the 70th in the history of the awards show, will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the show.
