Primetime TV stars Michael Emerson (Person of Interest, Lost) and Mark Valley (Human Target, Fringe) have signed on to the voice cast for the final installment of the DC Universe Animated Original Movie two-parter Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2, Warner Bros. has announced. Directed by Jay Oliva (Man of Steel, Green Lantern: Emerald Knights) from a screenplay by Bob Goodman (Warehouse 13), the PG-13 home ent. feature arrives January 29, 2013 on DVD ($19.98), Blu-ray Combo Pack + UltraViolet ($24.98), On Demand and Digital Download.
Emerson and Valley will voice The Joker and Superman, respectively. They join the ranks of recently announced addition Conan O’Brien, who will play a talk show host named Dave Endochrine, as well as Peter Weller (Batman/Bruce Wayne), David Selby (Commissioner Gordon), Ariel Winter (Robin/Carrie), Michael McKean (Dr. Wolper), Maria Canals-Barrera (Commissioner Yindel), Paget Brewster (Lana Lang) and Michael Jackson (Alfred). The movie finds the city of Gotham once again under the watchful eyes of Batman and Robin, but the Dark Knight’s resurgence awakens a greater evil lurking in Arkham Asylum: The Joker. Meanwhile, Superman has been dispatched by the President to halt Batman’s vigilante reign, while the peace of Gotham City hangs in the balance. Sam Register, Bruce Timm, Michael Uslan and Benjamin Melniker are exec producers.
