In advance of Nuremberg and New York Toy Fair, European kids’ entertainment producer/distributor Alphanim has announced that it has recently secured key licensees for it’s brand new CG animated series Calimero. Based on the character created by Nino Pagot, Toni Pagot and Ignazio Colnaghi (which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year), the 104 x 11 series is set to roll out on France’s TF1, Italy’s RAI, Disney Junior (select E.U. markets) and Télé-Québec in 2013-2014.
In line with the series launch of Calimero is a master plush deal with Nicotoy, a subsidiary of Simba Dickie Group of Germany. The deal includes Western Europe (excluding the U.K.) and will see Nicotoy unveiling plush and baby plush products, including stuffed characters, baby cuddle cloths and play mats.
In the toy category, Alphanim has finalized a deal with Androni Giocattoli for beach toys and accessories—buckets, beach packs, beach balls and others—for Western E.U., Scandinavia & C.E.E.
Apparel deals for Calimero include MLP which will produce daywear, nightwear, underwear, socks and swimwear for babies, kids and adults as well as accessories—brokered by Alphanim and TF1 Licenses, the deal covers France, Benelux, Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The company also secured a renewal with Oysho (part of Inditex Group) which will continue to offer its exclusive Calimero apparel worldwide through 2013.
