What to Expect, the best-selling resource/brand for new and expecting parents, is branching out in a new media direction by teaming up with Little Airplane Productions—producer of popular pre-k TV series including The Wonder Pets, 3rd & Bird and Small Potatoes. The joint venture is called What to Expect, Jr., and will focus on creating original TV content for young viewers.
The premiere project from this new partnership is the short-form series Amazing Ace & Grace, created by What to Expect’s Heidi and Erik Murkoff and Little Airplane founder & president Josh Selig. The show uses humor and music to help preschoolers navigate through new experiences and challenging transitions. Viewers will join four-year-old Grace, her little brother Chase and her stuffed dog Ace, who comes to life whenever Grace gives him a hug and serves as Grace’s guide through her fantasy play adventures, playing different roles in each episode.
“I created Amazing Ace & Grace to gently guide little ones through life’s challenging firsts, big and small – from a first visit to the dentist to a first day at preschool to a first playdate at a friend’s house or a first encounter with a new babysitter,” said Heidi Murkoff. “After all, it always helps to know what to expect…and to have a friend along for the ride.”
