PBS KIDS has revealed the premiere date for its brand new preschool toon Peg + Cat. The 2D-animated show will join the PBS KIDS lineup Monday, October 7 and kick off with a special one-hour, two-episode broadcast.
Produced by The Fred Rogers Company and created by Billy Aronson (Broadway’s Rent) and Jennifer Oxley (Wonder Pets), the show introduces adorable, spirited Peg—voiced by 9-year-old newcomer Hayley Faith—and her sidekick Cat, inspired by Oxley’s own pet. Peg and Cat travel to farms, purple planets, Radio City Music Hall and even 16th century Verona to solve the challenge of the day and prove that math is everywhere.
In the same announcement, PBS KIDS revealed that this fall will also see the evergreen Thomas & Friends move from weekends to a daily schedule on October 7, as well as get a dedicated section on the PBSKIDS.org website. The all new season of Thomas & Friends will kick off with a national broadcast of the upcoming 60-minute special, “King of the Railway.”
