Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Enterprises and toy company The Bridge Direct have teamed up for a new line of girls’ fashion dolls (and tie-in digital media projects): Pinkie Cooper and the Jet Set Pets, from the creator of Bratz. The toy line launches in late summer and will include a range of dolls and accessories, dubbed “fashion dolls with a canine twist.” The nine-inch dolls will include aspects of fashion play, hair play, travel and pet collectibles.
The brand is anchored by anthropomorphic pup Pinkie Cooper and her best friends Ginger and Pepper, who turn their fascination with fashion into globe-trotting adventures, traveling the world to report on red carpet events for Pinkie’s web channel, as well as creating new designs, music and style statements along the way.
For Nelvana’s part, the Canadian studio will be rolling out seven three-minute webisodes for the Pinkie Cooper website and dedicated YouTube channel, starting in July. Also slated for this year are up to four apps to complement the toy launch. Nelvana is developing and creating all digital content for the brand, including webisodes, the website, apps and social media marketing, as well as overseeing the consumer product merchandising and marketing plans to come.
