Microsoft Xbox Live will be able to catch the new animated comedy The Awesomes on July 23, one week before the show premieres on Hulu. Variety reports that Seth Meyers (SNL) and Mike Shoemaker (Late Night with Jimmy Fallon)’s toon will get this window before Hulu’s debut on August 1st. The half-hour toon is produced by Broadway Video Entertainment, in partnership with Burbank-based studio Bento Box Entertainment.
Hulu plans to host a launch party for The Awesomes at Comic-Con International in San Diego in July.
In the U.S., Microsoft is estimated to have more than 20 million Xbox Live users. It has 48 million Xbox Live users worldwide.
The Awesomes centers on a group of misfit superheroes, which has lost all of its most powerful members. Kenan Thompson, Bill Hader, Taran Killam, Ike Barinholtz, Steve Higgins and Paula Pell.
