+ International children’s channel KidsCo has acquired CG animated series Sendokai Champions from media agent Nottingham Forest. Co-produced by Kotoc and Spain’s TVE, the action series will premiere fully dubbed on the channel’s Syfy Kids programming block in October as a first-run across Central & Eastern Europe, South East Asia, South Africa and parts of Sub-Saharan Africa. The show follows four young teens on a mission to save the Earth from an inter-dimensional invasion, learning the warrior arts of Sendokai. The series premieres in the U.S. this fall.
+ Kids’ production company The Foundation has announced 30 year television veteran Gwen Hughes has been promoted to Managing Director from her previous role of Head of Production. Hughes, who joined The Foundation in 1996 as a production assistant and has worked on successful series Finger Tips, Stephen & Holly’s Saturday Showdown, Waybuloo and Tickety Toc, will report directly to CEO and Chairman Nigel Pickard starting September 1.
