Variety.com broke the news today that Warner Bros. is developing a new feature-length animated adventure for Scooby-Doo and the rest of the perennial mystery-solving team. While it is unclear whether this will be a CG or 2D project, we do now know that WB has tapped Atlas Entertainment, with Charles Roven and Richard Suckle producing. Roven and Suckles also produced the 2002 live-action/CG hybrid flick Scooby-Doo and 2004’s Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed. Jesse Ehrman is overseeing Scooby-Doo for WB.
Additionally, the studio announced that Matt Lieberman will be penning the script. Lieberman was previously in the Disney Writers Program and most recently finished an untitled project for Paramount Animation, as well as Short Circuit for Dimension. He also has sold specs 12/24 (1942 Pictures) and The Pet (Disney). Lieberman also wrote Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Evil Genius for Disney.
