+ Zodiak Kids has struck an agreement–in partnership with Australian agent The Fusion Agency–for live events for its preschool brands Tickety Toc and Mister Maker to make first appearances in Australian shopping malls starting this month. The three-year agreement will see Showtime Attractions develop and manage live shows and character appearances for Tickety Toc across the country as well as interactive shows and workshops for Mister Maker. The first deal is with QIC shopping centers for over 160 Tickety Toc shows between now and summer 2014, kicking off Sept. 24-28 at Wespoint, Blacktown; plus 60 Mister Maker shows beginning next April.
+ Canada’s kaboom! Entertainment–Phase 4 Films’ dedicated kids & family label–will launch the new season of its animated preschool series Toopy and Binoo on DVD at retail in Canada on Oct. 1, represented by Treehouse Presents (Corus and Phase 4’s DVD label). The show, produced by Echo Media, is inspired by the popular books by Dominique Jolin and follows optimistic, impulsive mouse Toopy and his kitty best friend Binoo, bleming live-action characters and animated images. kaboom! has also secured DVD, SVOD, VOD and Digital rights for Brain Power Studio’s whimsical Fuzzy Tales (75 x 5) seasons 1-3, another live-action/animation hybrid series which recasts classic fairytales with animal heroes.
