Guru Appoints Lambur Director of Sales

Guru Studio has appointed Ian Lambur to the new role of director of sales.

Reporting to VP Mary Bredin, Lambur will manage worldwide sales of the company’s programs, which include the Emmy-nominated preschool hit Justin Time.

Additionally, he will help expand the Toronto-based studio’s family-focused distribution catalog, and secure presales for projects in development.

Lambur arrives with a solid reputation in kids entertainment, previously in international distribution at Vodka Capital in Spain, as well as five years of sales with Kidscreen magazine.

The last year has seen significant increase in both sales and production activity at Guru Studio. Guru’s development slate includes five new original properties that the company will be presenting at MIPCOM and other upcoming markets.

The studio also is producing third-party, high-profile series such as Spinmaster’s flagship preschool 3D CGI series for Nickelodeon, Paw Patrol; brand new 2D series, Ever After High, from the makers of Monster High; as well as the original CGI Treehouse-BBC co-production, Dinopaws.

To manage the increased production volume, Guru recently established a new 6,000 square foot studio to house 40 2D Harmony animators and an interactive department that will produce ancillary and complementary online content for both original and third party properties.
