Following its most successful visit to MIPCOM to date, Paris-based toon producer/distributer Cyber Group Studios reports a doubling of its international sales since last October, thanks to a number of deals for hit series and major new package sales:
Zou (104 x 11), a co-production with Scrawl Studios which made its U.S. debut on PBS/Sprout last month, has been acquired by VME TV for Spanish-speaking U.S., Rai for Italy and Netminds for DVD rights in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay and Paraguay. In the last three months, Zou has been picked up by Super RTL (Germany), RSI (Switzerland), CFI (Africa), TV5 Worldwide, IRIB (Iran), RTV Slovenja, ETV (Estonia), Lepl Public Broadcaster (Georgia), Multirio (Brazil), POD Worldwide (Thailand), Mediacorp (Singapore), PT Metropolitan (Indonesia) and Zee Learn Limited (India). Additionally, Tele-Quebec and France TV have pre-bought season two.
Mademoiselle Zazie (78 x 7), a co-pro with Scrawl for France Televisions which made its international debut at MIPCOM 2013, has been picked up by Disney (Italy), VRT (Belgium), TV2 (Norway), Ceska Televize (Czech Rep.), Canal Panda (Portugal), MTVA (Hungary), POD (Thailand), Lepl Public Broadcaster (Georgia), E-Vision (UAE), Kurdmax TV (Northern Iraq) and Air France. The show launched on France 5 in August.
Tales of Tatonka (52 x 13), produced for Tiji in France and Rai in Italy, continues to succeed around the world, already sold to over 70 broadcasters including Discovery Asia, Al Jazeera, Channel One (Russia) and more recently SVT (Sweden), Television de Galicia (Spain), TRT (Turkey), Play Media (Bulgaria), Lepl Public Broadcaster (Georgia), Ceska Televize (Czech Rep.), SBS (Australia), Incomsa (Colombia), Air France, YLE (Finland) and RSI (Switzerland).
Cloud Bread (78 x 7), a stereo 3-D preschool series produced by GIMC, Carloon and DPS, was acquired by Canal + (France), YLE (Finland), Ceska Televize (Czech Rep.), IRIB (Iran), TG4 (Ireland), Television de Galicia (Spain) and E-Vision (UAE). And Mia (39 x 11), a co-pro of Sardine Productions, Spacetoon and Cyber Group, is set to launch next year on Tiji (France), Radio Canada and Spacetoon (Middle East, Malaysia, Indonesia), with presales to VRT (Belgium), TV2 (Norway) and Pro Plus (Slovenia).
Cyber Group has also concluded a number of package deals with broadcasters including Kurdmax TV, Juita Viden (Vietnam), Lepl, MTVA (Hungary), P & P Permissions & Rights (Serbia), Play Media (Bulgaria), POP TV (Slovenia) and RTV (Slovenia) for an array of shows: Zou, Mia, Tales of Tatonka, Nina Patalo, Animalia, Grenadine and Peppermint, Raju the Rickshaw, Manon, Ozie Boo, Ozie Boo Save the Planet and Patch Pillows.
