Online video platform Kidobi and major publisher Simon & Schuster have teamed up for a new web app, called Ready-to-Read, which provides book recommendations for early readers ages three to eight. Popular titles including Olivia, Eloise, Mike the Knight and the works of Eric Carle are among the many offerings.
The Ready-to-Read Recommendation App, available now (kidobi.com/ready-to-read), is designed to support the development of early literacy skills by matching young readers with books at the optimal level of difficulty. The app analyzes the child’s age, interests and reading level to help parents find suitable books.
“Personalization is at the core of what we do at Kidobi, using technology to give each child content that is at just the right level for them,” said Eric Sorenson, Director of Research & Content at Kidobi. “With the Ready-to-Read Recommendation App, we’re able to bring that element of personalization to the books they read as well, which we hope will contribute to more kids developing a lifelong love of reading.”
