Quebec City’s Cartoon Connection Focuses on Animation

Quebec City will host the 2013 edition of Cartoon Connection Canada and Mini Pixel October 28 to 31 at Loews Hôtel Le Concorde. Distributors and producers of animation and video game content will focus on business plans and take advantage of the numerous networking opportunities for international collaborations. Top international broadcasters in attendance include Family Channel-Disney, Corus Entertainment, CBC, France Télévisions, BBC, RAI and Canal+.

Mini Pixel, a side event during Cartoon Connection Canada, is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29 at the Loews Hôtel Le Concorde. Three master classes will be given by David Lesperance, Ken Fountain and Stephen Melagrano.

“Mini Pixel and Cartoon Connection bring together 400 individuals under one roof. This is a great opportunity to meet interesting people and have access to highly targeted content,” says Louis Leclerc, general manager of Pixel Québec and Cartoon Connection Canada co-organizer.

Cartoon Connection will focus on new digital platforms in light of their growing importance in terms of information and entertainment. The event will also feature a Techno Tour of the St-Roch Techno District during which participants will tour five animation and video game studios: Ubisoft, Frima Studio, Beenox, Squeeze Studio and Cortex Media. The three-hour tour of St-Roch takes place on the morning of Thursday, October 31.
