Fox-TV Reveals Holiday Animated Slate

Fox is offering a slew of seasonal programming treats this year, with new and returning Thanksgiving and holiday themed episodes of favorite shows decking its lineup, kicking off this week. While tons of live-action shows will also take part, here are the animation highlights:

First on Saturday, November 23 at 11 p.m. a Thanksgiving episode of Axe Cop, “28 Days Before,” finds Axe Cops’ team wondering where he’s been since Halloween as they try to defeat the evil Turkey Turkey (guest star Jack McGee) without him. More holiday animation dominates Sunday night, Nov. 24, starting with Bob’s Burgers “Turkey in a Can” at 8:30 p.m. in which Bob’s attempts to prepare the perfect feast are foiled by Thanksgiving sabotage. Then, American Dad “Kung Pao Turkey” (9:30 p.m.) finds Stan’s football watching plans foiled when Francine invites her adoptive parents for the holiday.

Moving from drumsticks to jingle bells, on Sunday December 15 in a new The Simpsons, “White Christmas Blues” (8 p.m.; encore Dec. 22 at 8:30 p.m.), a radiation leak from the power plant causes snow to fall all over Springfield, attracting holiday revelers who drive up Christmas shopping prices and drive Marge to open the Simpsons house to boarders to earn extra dough. Bob’s Burgers “Christmas in the Car” (8:30 p.m.) finds the Belchers trying to outrun a truck shaped like a giant candy cane, while back home Bob’s pal Teddy gets caught in the kids’ Santa trap. Family Guy “Christmas Guy” (9 p.m.) centers on Peter trying to teach Lois’ dad the Holiday spirit, while Stewie learns about confession. And American Dad “Minstrel Krampus” (9:30 p.m.), a bratty Steve gets dragged to see his convict Grandpa Jack (Daran Norris) who tells how he once captured the legendary Krampus demon (Danny Glover); meanwhile, Haley gets an ill-fated customer service job at the airport.

Returning holiday toon treats will be Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas (Dec. 16, 9 p.m. and Dec. 25, 8 p.m.), DreamWorks’ Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury (Dec. 16, 9:30 p.m. and Dec. 25, 8:30 p.m.), Happiness Is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown (Dec. 20, 9 p.m.), Bob’s Burgers “God Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins” (Dec. 22, 7 p.m.), The Simpsons “To Cur with Love” (Dec. 22, 8 p.m.), Family Guy “Jesus, Mary & Joseph” (Dec. 22, 9 p.m.)
