Netflix’s first-ever original kids’ series, DreamWorks Animation’s Turbo FAST, will enjoy a Christmas Eve launch as the animated show based on the summer snail racing spectacular debuts on the streaming service Tuesday, December 24 at 12:01 a.m. PST in all territories. Families will be able to stream the first five episodes this holiday season, with new episodes premiering throughout 2014.
The high-octane comedy amps everything up to the extreme as Turbo (voiced by Veep‘s Reid Scott) and the rest of his Fast Action Stunt Team go on daring new adventures, race on the coolest tracks and take on the craziest challenges. The show digs deeper into the crazy personalities of the snail crew (Whiplash, Burn, Smoove Move, White Shadow, Skidmark and Chet) and features 2D design to create a stylized look. In addition to Scott, the show will feature the voice of comedian Ken Jeong reprising his film role as fan-favorite manicurist turned home shopping icon Kim Ly.
“We’ve long said that Netflix is revolutionizing the television industry and now we are thrilled to officially be a part of it,” said DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg. “They have been fantastic partners whose vision has given our characters an amazing platform to be enjoyed by families around the world.”
Produced by Ben Kalina and Jennifer Ray and exec produced by Chris Prynoski, Turbo FAST is produced by DreamWorks Animation Television with production services from Titmouse, Inc.
