Animation Libation Studio Announces New Contest

New cloud-based studio Animation Libation Studio has announced a global contest which offers students and recent graduations to work on projects with top animators in the industry.

Student contest entries will be showcased on the Animation Libation Studios website, and selected animation graduates will have a chance to cultivate their talents by working on smaller projects, with the opportunity to work on bigger projects in the future.

Animation Libation Studios was designed to fill the void between animation graduates and the industry, and to give animation graduates the real tools & experience they need in order to become professionals in the industry. According to founder Michael Bonitatis, the studio was created with the sole purpose of giving animation graduates the type of production apprenticeship experience they need in order to kick off their careers as professional animators.

Bonitatis, a professional animator and teacher, put together an impressive team to head up the studio, including former Rhythm & Hues director Anjelica Casillas and animator and teacher Mike Libonati. Together, they share over 20 years of animation production experience.

As part of their launch, the studio is sponsoring a Global Student Animation Contest that is open to students and recently graduated students (details on their website) from around the globe.

“The kinds of projects we are developing are innovative, creative, and original, and come from around the world,” says Bonitatis. “It’s a unique opportunity for recent grad students to work on a professional project and gain the experience that all the bigger studios are looking for in new hires. The winners of the contest will be some of the first animation graduates to work on one of our professional animated shorts.”
