Art Department Offers Free Pixar Lecture, Reviews

The Art Department, an online art school with brick and mortar locations around the country, is offering the public an opportunity to attend Jan. 25 a free online lecture with artists from Pixar Animation Studios.

The lecture will begin at 11 a.m. PT, and features animator Andrew Gordon, who has been with Pixar since its second feature, 1998’s A Bug’s Life, and was a supervising animator on the studio’s most feature, Monsters University; and story artist Sam Hood, an Annie Award-winner who has worked on projects for Blue Sky, Laika, Nick and Cartoon Network before joining Pixar, where he’s on the upcoming Toy Story Christmas special and the features Inside Out and Finding Dory.

There are 100 spaces open for the live lecture. To sign up, fill out the online form.

Attendees also will have the opportunity to submit their reels for review by the artists. Only a select number of the submitted reels will be viewed. Reels must be submitted by 3 p.m. PT on Jan. 24. The earlier the submission, the better chance it has of being reviewed.

The Art Department is dedicated to offering the best education possible, taught by the best professionals in the illustration and animation industry at an affordable price. For more information on the school, visit it online at www.theartdepartmentschool.com.
