Disney Junior’s new animated preschool series Sheriff Callie’s Wild West premiered to strong ratings Monday with back-to-back episodes that topped the preschooler demographic for the time slot.
Airing two half-hour episodes starting at 5 p.m, the premiere drew 1.38 million total viewers. Among kids 2-5, it earned 696,000 viewers and a 4.5 rating.
The music-filled animated series targeted at ages 2-7, stars the voice of Mandy Moore (Disney’s Tangled) as Callie, a Calico cat sheriff who keeps the peace in her frontier town of Nice and Friendly Corners using her magic lasso and cowgirl know-how. The series also stars Lucas Grabeel (Disney’s High School Musical, ABC Family’s Switched at Birth) as Callie’s trusty deputy, Peck; and Jessica DiCicco (Disney’s Gravity Falls) as their loveable cactus sidekick Toby.
The executive producers are Denis Morella, George Evelyn and Holly Huckins. The series is a production of W!LDBRAIN Entertainment, a DHX Media company, in association with Disney Junior.
