If your Spidey-sense has been tingling, it’s probably because you picked up on the vibes emanating from Sony Pictures HQ as they prepared to release the new The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer! The latest footage gives fans a better glimpse at the Peter Parker’s struggles balancing his everyday life with his heroic alter ego’s, as well as the sinister triad of villains he will face in the sequel-to-the-reboot hitting theaters May 2.
From Sony’s official synopsis: It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn a.k.a. the Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
Marc Webb returns to the director’s chair for the sequel, which also stars Paul Giamatti as mech-suit wearing mobster The Rhino, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore, Sally Field, Chris Cooper, Marton Csokas and B.J. Novak. Martin Sheen, Chris Zylka and Denis Leary will reprise their roles as Ben Parker, Flash Thompson and Captain George Stacy.
