Yellow Sticky Notes | Canadian Anijam, a classically animated short film by Vancouver-based animator Jeff Chiba Stearns that features the work of 15 of Canada’s top independent animators, will launch online on YouTube, Vimeo and Film Annex.
A follow up to Chiba Stearns’ 2007 Yellow Sticky Notes, the new feature played at more than 50 film festivals and uses a collaborative approach that calls on contributors to reflect on one day of their lives using only 4-inch by 6-inch yellow sticky notes, a black pen and animation meditation.
Contributors to the film include: original Anijam creator Marv Newland, Oscar winners Alison Snowden and David Fine, and Academy Award nominees Cordell Barker, Janet Perlman, Chris Hinton and Paul Driessen. The film also features the work of Jody Kramer, Howie Shia, Jonathan Ng, Lillian Chan, Malcolm Sutherland, Joel Mackenzie, and Louise Johnson.

Created with a BravoFact grant from Bravo, the film is now playing on online platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, and Film Annex.
All proceeds generated by the film will be used to create a foundation called the Yellow Sticky Notes Project, which will teach classical animation workshops to children and youths across Canada.
The film had it’s world premiere in January 2013 at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and has been officially accepted at over 50 international film festivals including the prestigious Hot Docs, Ottawa International Animation Festival, Edinburgh, Cinequest Film Festival, International Film Festival of Cartagena de Indias, Anima Mundi, Cleveland International Film Festival, Athens International Film + Video Festival, Melbourne International Animation Festival, and the WorldFest – Houston International Independent Film Festival where it won a Gold Remi Award for Best Animation.
