The ToonSeum, a.k.a. Pittsburgh’s Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art, will be celebrating seven memory-making decades of Little Golden Books on Saturday, May 17 from 4 – 7 p.m. The event will toast the LGB storytelling legacy with a special read-along party, and give guests the opportunity to get a rare look at original art from classic storybooks like Poky Little Puppy, The Tawny Lion, Tootle, The Little Red Hen and more.
The ToonSeum will host special story times with local celebrities including WTAE TV’s Sally Wiggin and everyone’s favorite neighborhood delivery man, Mr. McFeely (Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood). The celebration will also include hands-on crafts, live performances, artist demonstrations, treats and more. Plus each family will receive a special Golden Book and other take-home surprises.
The Little Golden Books exhibition, running through July 5, is chaired by Gregg and Yu-Ling Behr and made possible through the support of The Grable Foundation.The cost of admission for the Little Golden Books Celebration is $25 per family (up to two adults and up to three children, additional children $5 each).
