Global kids’ entertainment brand management company Genius Brands International has expanded its operations, launching a new global distribution division and appointing longtime distribution executive Andrew Berman to oversee it. The announcement was made by Genius Brands chairman and CEO Andy Heyward, to whom Berman will report.
In the newly formed position of Senior Vice President, Global Sales, Berman will oversee worldwide distribution of GBI’s children’s content catalog, which includes Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club, Baby Genius, Stan Lee’s Mighty 7, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab and more, across all platforms. Berman brings 30 years of experience in global sales, marketing and distribution to BGI’s Beverly Hills headquarters.
Prior to joining GBI, Berman successfully spearheaded worldwide sales efforts for FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment as VP of distribution, launching series Tree Fu Tom, Monsuno and Max Steel on the global market. Before that, he ran North American operations and lead worldwide sales for TMS Entertainment, a Japanese animation production house and subsidiary of Sega. His resume also lists positions at IDT Entertainment (acquired by Liberty Media), Harvey Entertainment, New World Pictures and MGM. Berman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio Television and Film from California State University at Northridge.
