First ‘Mockingjay – Part 1’ Teaser Debuts

Lionsgate ended Comic-Con on a high note for Hunger Games fans yesterday with the reveal of the first teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, the penultimate chapter in the smash hit film series based on Suzanne Collins’ best-selling books. The teaser reveals plenty of visual effects and action filled battles between the rebels of District 13 and The Capitol to dazzle audiences when the film arrives November 21.

Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence returns as director for the third film, which stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, leader of the charge against Panem’s oppressive regime. Josh Hutcherson (Peeta), Liam Hemsworth (Gale), Woody Harrelson (Haymitch Abernathy), Elizabeth Banks (Effie Trinket) and Donald Sutherland (Pres. Snow) return for Mockingjay, and the teaser shows the late Philip Seymour Hoffman (high rebellion figure Plutarch Heavensbee), Julianne Moore (District 13 president Alma Coin) and Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer (Cressida).
