The streetwise star and his wasp-waisted love interest of Disney’s Aladdin will be joining the diverse range of characters already populating the world of the innovative Disney Infinity game, arriving in stores in September.
Aladdin has been one of the most highly fan-requested characters since Infinity‘s release last year, and his figure — which players scan on a peripheral device to access in the game’s “toy box” — will be available this fall. He’ll have to play the field for a while as Jasmine will not be out until early 2015.
According to Variety, Infinity’s success has been surprising in that unlike similar franchises like Skylanders, the Disney game has proven popular with a higher than expected percentage of girls. When she finally hops a magic carpet into the mix, Jasmine will join Tangled‘s Rapunzel, Brave‘s Merida and Frozen‘s Anna and Elsa. Additional Disney and Marvel characters will be announced in the months leading up to Infinity 2.0‘s release.
