Hasbro Studios, along with its partners Screenvision and Shout! Kids, has unveiled the official poster and teaser (first seen at Comic-Con) for its upcoming animated theatrical sequel My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks, coming to the big screen September 27.
The follow-up to last year’s successful Equestria Girls movie, which transformed the popular ponies into human high schoolers, centers on a friendly musical showcase at Canterlot High which turns into a battle of the bands when Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Fluttershy’s group The Rainbooms is challenged by a new group, The Dazzlings. When a reformed Sunset Shimmer realizes the newcomers may be after more than a Best Band title, The Rainbooms call on Princess Twilight to help them perform a musical counter-spell to win the battle and determine the fate of the school.
