Shout! Bringing ‘Thunder and the House of Magic’ to US

Shout! Factory has announced that it will bring the popular overseas CG flick Thunder and the House of Magic stateside this fall, beginning September 5. Screening cities include New York, L.A., Atlanta, Boston, Houston, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, San Francisco and Washington, DC. The family-friendly adventure will have a simultaneous VOD release through Brainstorm Media.

Thunder and the House of Magic, produced by Belgium’s nWave Pictures, centers on abandoned young cat Thunder, who stumbles into a magical old mansion full of automatons and gizmos. The owner is a retired magician, and the house is occupied by his wacky assistants who don’t all welcome the furry new guest. But when the magician lands in the hospital and his scheming nephew puts the mansion up for sale, Thunder and his new friends join forces to save their magical home.

The film — which debuted in France, Belgium and Francophone Switzerland last Christmas — is directed by Ben Stassen (Fly Me to the Moon) and Jeremy Degruson (Sammy’s Adventures), with original music from Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim). Thunder is written by Stassen, James Flynn and Domonic Paris from an original story by Stassen. Caroline Van Iseghem produces with Stassen and EPs Olivier Courson and Eric Dillens. The English voice cast includes Murray Blue, Doug Stone, George Babbit, Danielle Gray and Grand George. The film is produced by nWave in association with Studiocanal and Anton Capital Ent.
