MIPCOM is now under way in Cannes, with buyers and sellers from all over the world converging to work out deals.

Here’s the latest from the Croisette:

Cartoon Network U.K. has acquired the U.K. and Ireland pay-TV rights to Pip Ahoy! for its Cartoonito channel, and RTE has acquired free-TV rights for Ireland. Pip Ahoy! is the No. 1 children’s show in the U.K. for ages 4-9. A master toy-license deal has recently been signed with John Adams and there will be more licensing and publishing deals announced soon.

Launched Oct. 5 on TV Asahi in Japan, Toei Animation’s animated sci-fi adventure, World Trigger, will be available to international broadcasters at Mipcom 2014. Based on the hit manga by Daisuke Ashihara, World Trigger begins with the opening of a mysterious rift that brings our world into collision with a strange and dangerous new universe that’s home to a variety of lethal monsters.

Zodiak Kids announces the launch of Marathon Media’s new production Get Blake! (52×11′) an animated comedy series filled with visual gags and delirious characters, developed in partnership with Nickelodeon and Gulli.

HIT Entertainment has unveiled an all-new look for Bob the Builder in the upcoming CG-animated series of the show. The new CG-animated series – which will be delivered in late 2015 – will see Bob the Builder continuing to bring the world of construction to life for kids, with exciting characters, new relatable locations and an aspirational hero.

HIT Entertainment has announced global entertainment company DHX Media as its animation partner on a brand new CG animated series of Little People. The animated preschool series of 52 x 11′ episodes, planned for release in late 2015, showcases a unique format and emphasizes the power that imagination and group play can have on discovery and critical thinking skills.

Brown Bag Films and Cyber Group Studios announce the development of Gilbert and Allie, a CGI series for ages 6-10. Created by Bronagh O’Hanlon, Gilbert and Allie is an odd-couple supernatural comedy about the sparks and spells that fly when a teenage girl who just wants to be popular discovers she has extraordinary powers. Gilbert and Allie is in full development in Dublin and Paris with a literary and graphic bible available and scripts underway.
