Munich-based Global Screen has sold the 3D animated feature The 7th Dwarf a number of international distributors, including Shout! Factory (U.S.), Signature Entertainment (U.K.), Rialto Distribution (Australia), Italian International Film, Flins & Piniculas (Spain) and PRIS Audiovisuais (Portugal). The company also has an offer from France on the table.
Previously announced licensees include H.G.C. Entertainment (China), AQS (Czech Rep. and Slovakia), PT Media Bermutu (Indonesia), SANE Company (S. Korea), Medyavizyon (Turkey), Kino Swiat (Poland), Swen (Latin America), Just Bridge (Benelux), Italia Film (Middle East) and Rekiston (CIS and Baltic states).
The 7th Dwarf tells the story of Bobo, the youngest of the seven dwarves, who accidentally pricks Princess Rose (a.k.a. Sleeping Beauty) and sends the kingdom into a century of slumber. Bobo and the rest of the dwarves must travel to the future to revive Rose, and discover that even the smallest dwarf can be a king. The comedy-fueled fairytale mash-up features original songs and stereoscopic 3-D.
The film was produced by 7 Dwarves Animation Company in co-production with Cinemendo, Erfttal Film & Fernsehproduktion, CC Medienproduktion, TransWaal Film, VIP Medienfonds 2 / VIP Medienfonds 4B, Rialto Film, MCC Independent and Universal Pictures Productions. Universal and 3 Freunde Filmverleigh Germany released The 7th Dwarf September 25.
