It’s been a long year for fans of Pixar, which is not releasing a feature film in 2014. But now there’s some light at the end of the tunnel with the release of the first trailer to offer a look at its next feature: Inside Out.
Here’s how Pixar describes the movie:
“Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.”
Now, take a look at the teaser:
Inside Out is being directed by Pete Docter, who previously directed Up and Monsters, Inc., and produced by Jonas Rivera, whose credits include producing Up and a variety of roles on pretty much every Pixar project since he joined the studio in 1994. Ronnie del Carmen is co-director.
Inside Out is set to be released June 19, accompanied by the Pixar short film Lava.
