Slovakia’s international animation festival Fest Anča has launched its call for entries for the 2015 edition. Filmmakers are invited to submit their films made after January 1, 2013 to the 8th annual event as a digital copy or DVD/Blu-ray screener by March 15, 2015 — there is no fee to enter. The festival will take place in Zilina, Slovakia June 24-28.
Fest Anča aims to showcase contemporary, progressive animated films from around the world. A panel of industry judges will select winners in six categories, with cash prizes up to 800 euros (almost $1,000 USD). The event also features workshops, exhibitions and filmmaker talks. A casual summer festival environment is rounded out by nighttime screenings, live concerts, a camping city, fun parties and “great beer.”
