Russian toon house Wizart Animation has closed out a successful visit to the American Film Market, closing new deals for its completed and upcoming CG feature films. Presented at the Russian Cinema stand (organized by the Cinema Fund of Russia), these include The Snow Queen (2012), The Snow Queen 2 (2014) and the upcoming Sheep and Wolves (2015).
Snow Queen has been acquired by Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic for its Discovery Kids network across the region (excluding Brazil) next month.The film has seen release in 70 countries worldwide, and this year will come to Malaysia, Czech Rep., Slovakia and Bulgaria, with home entertainment releases planned for Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Indonesia.
OneVision Ent. has acquired rights for both Snow Queen films for Indonesia. Snow Queen 2 has been picked up by Transformer Inc. in Japan for a limited theatrical release next spring. The sequel will debut in theaters in over a dozen countries, with additional territories planning 2015 releases.
Sheep and Wolves will have a theatrical release in Australia and New Zealand last year; RIALTO has acquired all rights to the film for these territories.
