Written and directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez and produced by Guillermo del Toro, The Book of Life is a dazzling CG animated comedy centered on a young man named Manolo, who is torn between the expectations of his family and his heart’s desires. He sets off on an epic quest through three spectacular worlds in order to reunite with his true love and protect his village in this extraordinary fairy tale inspired by Mexico’s Day of the Dead celebrations. The film also stars Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna, Ron Perlman, Kate de Castillo, Christina Applegate and Ice Cube.
