FranceTV Distribution has gotten 2015 off to a busy start, securing multiple deals for three of its animated properties.
The distributor has picked up rights to seasons 1 and 2 of Studio Hari’s The Owl & Co. (78 x 7) and has secured its first sale of the series to Turner Group for its kids channels (Cartoon Network, Boing, Boomerang) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Ubisoft Motion Pictures’ Rabbids Invasion (seasons 1 & 3, 156 x 7) continues its global domination spurred since its debut on France Televisions. Recent sales include a deal for free and pay VOD rights in China for JY Entertainment, to Netflix in France and Videotron in Canada. The series is available worldwide on Nickelodeon and has been sold to free TV outlets MBC3 (Middle East), IRIB (Iran), Teletoon (Canada), Channel 9 (Australia), Smile TV (Greece), Super! (Italy) and Neox (Spain). Season 2 arrives on free TV this fall.
And, of course, NORMAAL Animation’s fresh Peanuts series (104 x 7 and 500 x 1’30”) is proving popular around the world. Multi-territory deals have been struck with DKids for Latin America and MBC 3 for the Middle East, in addition to local agreements with TVB (Hong Kong), Disney (South Korea), TV Tokyo (Japan), Thai PBS, Canal+ (Poland), RTVS (Slovenia), IETV (Isreal), SRC (Canada), YLE (Finland), NRK (Norway), NPO (Netherlands), Smile TV (Greece) and Sinema TV (Turkey).
