Channel Frederator Network has kicked off its international programming strategy by acquiring English-language distribution rights for Fin Punch!, an 18-art web series from Chilean producer Marmota Studio. Frederator will translate and distribute theshow on its Cartoon Hangover flagship channel. The series debuts Thursday, Feb. 5, with two episodes arriving weekly thereafter.
Fin Punch! follows an odd, charismatic dolphin and narwhal whose conflicting philosophies interfere with their attempts to conquer humankind. The series was created by Matias Latorre. “I can’t believe that Personas Cetaceas is going to be on Cartoon Hangover,” says Latorre of the partnership. “Two years ago I started this series with no expectations, and now our work will be seen by millions! We’re grateful to Frederator, because they not only guided us on YouTube matters, but also have shared their experiences as a big animation studio. To us, that’s priceless.”
