‘Phineas and Ferb’ creators Prep ‘Mikey Murphy’s Law’ at Disney XD

Phineas and Ferb creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh will produce a new series titled Mikey Murphy’s Law for Disney XD.

The show is scheduled to premiere in 2017 and will tell the story of the fictional great-great-great-great grandson of the Murphy’s Law namesake.

Joining Povenmire and Marsh are Phineas and Ferb veterans producer and director Robert F. Hughes, story editor Scott Peterson and staff writers Joshua Pruett, Dani Vetere and Martin Olson.

Having wrapped production, Phineas and Ferb will air on Disney XD its final new episode, titled “Last Day of Summer,” June 12. It will be preceded by a 73-hour marathon of the entire run of the series, which includes 126 episodes, five hourlong specials and one Disney Channel Original Movie.  A standalone hour-long special The O.W.C.A. Files, which focuses on the organization’s best secret agent, Agent P (also known as Perry the Platypus), and his fellow animal agents, will premiere this fall on Disney XD.

Over its run, Phineas and Ferb won three Emmy Awards – one for Outstanding Writing in Animation (2010) and two for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation (both in 2011) – and earned nine Emmy nominations.  Additionally, the series received multiple nominations for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards and Annie Awards.
