Disney XD has unleashed a first brief but ballistic promo for its upcoming animated Guardians of the Galaxy animated series, premiering September 26 on the channel’s Marvel Universe block. The action-packed appetizer, launched through IGN, showcases the smooth, strong graphic animation and the misfit heroes’ classic catchphrases.
The Marvel Animation series features the voices of Will Friedle as Star-Lord, David Sobolov as Drax, Vanessa Marshall as Gamora, Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot and Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon, with James Arnold Taylor as Yondu and Cosmo.
Synopsis:
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy follows the newly-formed team, who find a strange artifact keyed only to the DNA of Peter Quill. Upon opening it, Quill unleashes a treasure map leading to a powerful weapon known as the Cosmic Seed, capable of giving birth to the next universe. It’s up to the Guardians to find, protect and ultimately destroy the Cosmic See in order to keep it out of the hands of those who would abuse its power– from galactic big boss Thanos, to the conniving brothers the Collector and the Grandmaster, to a resurrected Ronan, to the ultimate trickster, Loki.
