‘Rick and Morty’ Scores Season 3 Renewal

Less than a month into its triumphant second season return to Adult Swim, original animated comedy Rick and Morty has received a season three order of bizarre intergalactic adventures. “It’s an honor to see Rick and Morty join the exclusive club of shows with over nineteen episodes,” said co-creator and executive producer Dan Harmon. “It’s time to demand that the network allow us to draw the characters going to Hawaii.”

The season two premiere on July 26 ranked #1 in its time period among all key adults and men, and charted triple-digit delivery gains over its prior season premiere. The TV audience continued to grow in week two, with gains of up to 27% among key demos. New episodes continue to air Sundays at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Created and exec produced by Harmon and Justin Roiland, the half-hour series follows sociopathic scientist Rick Sanchez and his timid grandson Morty (both voiced by Roiland) on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. In season two, Rick is still living with his daughter Beth (Sarah Chalke), son-in-law Jerry (Chris Parnell), granddaughter Summer (Spencer Grammer) and Morty, dragging them along as he faces new threats and mysteries of his past are revealed.
