VIEW Awards Open for Animation and VFX Shorts

The 2015 VIEW Conference, set for Oct. 19-23 in Turin, Italy, is widening the scope of its awards with new themes, subjects and contestants.

Accepting submissions through Sept. 15, the VIEW Award is open to students and non-student shorts made in the past two years using 2D or 3D animation or visual effects. First prize is 2,000 euros and the maximum length for submissions is 30 minutes.

Categories include:

  • Best Short: This award will honor an outstanding short movie created with 2D, 3D digital animation, or live footage with the integration of digital visual effects. Entries will be judged on technical excellence, originality, creativity, design and aesthetics.
  • Best Design: This award will honor the best environment created with digital techniques.
  • Best Character: This award will honor the best digital character created for an animated short film or for a videogame.
  • Best Digital Visual Effects: This award will honor the best Digital Visual Effects sequence used in a CG animated or live-action short film.
