Genius Brands International has secured a multiple territory broadcast deal or Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 with Cartoon Network Latin America. The agreement was concluded by GBI’s LatAm sales agent Zasha Robles and was announced by SVP of global sales Andrew Berman.
In Stan Lee’s Mighty 7, comics VIP Stan Lee stars as an animated version of himself, a legendary superhero creator, who teaches a crew of alien prisoners and their jailers — who have crash-landed on Earth — how to work together and use their powers to be superheroes. Each alien has his or her unique powers and strengths, which aid in the group’s ability to fight enemies.
Created with Lee, Mighty 7 is produced by Stan Lee Comics, a joint venture among Genius Brands Int’l, Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment and Archie Comics. This first animated feature adventure in a planned trilogy also stars Sean Astin, Jim Belushi, Mayim Bialik, Darren Criss, Flea, Armie Hammer, Teri Hatcher, Michael Ironside and Christian Slater.
Cartoon Network Latin America’s pan-regional reach adds to already secured deals for the film across Europe, Asia, Middle East, Australia, Canada and the United states. The Mighty 7 brand has also been teamed up with worldwide toy licensee Factory Entertainment and worldwide videogame licensee Black Lantern, on top of a slew of U.S. apparel and consumer products partners.
