Just launched today is a website and trailer for the latest short project from Moonbot Studios (The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore). The film is titled Taking Flight (takingflightfilm.com) and is directed by Brandon Oldenburg, executive produced by William Joyce and Trish Farnsworth-Smith and produced by Robert Pasin and Lampton Enochs with associate producer Wendell Riley.
Animated in 3D CG, Taking Flight is inspired by the life and heritage of Antonio Pasin, inventor of the classic Radio Flyer wagon. The fictional tribute follows along as one small boy’s over-scheduled, over-supervised, overly boring day with Grandpa turns into a larger-than-life journey that sees him narrowly escape a troupe of wild monkeys and battle aliens to save the universe. The film is an ode to the power of imagination and the lessons it has to teach three generations of men.
Moonbot will be screening Taking Flight at the Laemmle Royal Theater in West Los Angeles September 18-24.
